Sadly we lost our precious girl a week before her second birthday. She had a stomach ache on Wednesday and I took her to the vet clinic. They ran a myriad of tests and even performed exploratory surgery because they could not find a source for her painful abdomen. By that Sunday evening (tragically enough it was Mother's Day) the vet called to say she had passed away. A necropsy from Texas A&M University revealed she had a case of bacterial meningitis, which is rarely seen in dogs. I have spoken to several vets who have been in practice for a number of years and none that I have spoken to have ever seen a documented case of bacterial meningitis in dogs. We miss this wonderful little girl and wished we could have had her around for 15 more years to see her grow up and be a successful lure courser and couch ornament. She was such a beautiful runner, I will miss not being able to see her running again. These lure coursing photos were taken by Shot on Site and was the last coursing event Bee Bee participated in before we lost her. She had 1 leg of her JC and was trying for the last leg, but could not decide if she wanted to run or wanted to be with mom more. Rest softly now little one, we will never forget you.
